ADAPTIVE

"So much fun it doesn't feel like exercise!"
-Program Participant

Circus Moves adaptive programs address the specific needs of individuals with diverse physical, cognitive, and social-emotional needs at any age.

We create inclusive spaces in which participants experience a sense of emotional safety and social connection, leading to social-emotional gains (aka social emotional learning) for most participants.

Challenge level is variable based on the audience we are serving. Most activities can be done sitting or standing and can be adapted to meet the needs of each participant. Therapeutic goals of the individuals and groups we serve are woven into every activity.

Circus Moves applies a trauma-informed approach to programming in all communities.

An OT once asked how Circus Moves programs are different from other therapeutic activities

if the outcomes are the same. Here's how: Circus is the lead-in, therapy is the outcome. It doesn't feel therapeutic, it feels fun. This is especially important for children who feel "different;" and aging adults experiencing isolation. Circus learning provides opportunities for belonging.
